Cindy Clarke is a reputable senior leader and partner at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, one of Canada’s leading national law firms. Cindy has been practicing health law at BLG defending hospitals and health organizations since 1999. Cindy is involved in all aspects of the Firm and in the last number of years has come to be involved in Firm management in addition to her practice responsibilities.
Within BLG, Cindy is the National Group Head, Specialized Disputes, a role she has held since 2014. She is a member of BLG’s National Management Committee and the relationship manager for several key clients in the primary health care and financial institution sectors.
As National Group Head, Cindy is responsible for leading and overseeing more than 150 lawyers across four National Disputes Groups - Health, Labour & Employment, Insurance & Tort and Environment & Land Use Planning.
In her practice, Cindy represents hospitals and health organizations in complex, multi-million dollar medical malpractice actions. She also represents product manufacturers in product liability actions involving products with health effects, including pharmaceutical class actions.
Cindy previously served for 12 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Mothercraft Society – an organization dedicated to healthy child development and strengthening families. Cindy has been recognized in the 2020 and previous editions of Best Lawyers in Canada® (Administrative and Public Law, Health Care Law, Medical Negligence); Chambers Canada as a ranked health care lawyer; and was honoured with a Zenith Award for Mid-Career Excellence and a Top 100 Most Powerful Woman Award by WXN.
Cindy lives in Brampton with her husband Chris and their three children, Sophia, 17 and twins Max and Lucie, 13. All three children currently attend HSC. Cindy loves the outdoors and spending time with her family.
