Summer Camps

Update - March 25, 2021

Please be advised that given the continued uncertainties presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the College has made the decision to cancel our regular summer camp programs.

Although HSC Summer Camps will not be operational for the 2021 season, we are developing a new and exciting HSC Summer Camp experience for 2022. Check back later for more information.

We apologize for any disruption this may cause to summer schedules.

HSC is celebrating more than 30 years of outstanding summer programs for children aged 4 to 15. We look forward to offering HSC Summer Camps in 2022. Our innovative and safe camp programs are designed to offer young people exciting enrichment opportunities while cultivating lasting memories and positive experiences for each camper enrolled in our programs. Our camps concentrate on participation, teamwork, cooperation and fun!

To provide a varied experience, all recreational camps are offered as half-day programs. We encourage you to select one program for the morning and one program for the afternoon. Please select only one activity per half-day session.

Our Staff
The cornerstone of our programs is the quality of our caregiving. The Directors of our camps include teachers from Hillfield Strathallan College, all of whom bring their knowledge, creativity and expertise to the programming of each camp. All our camp staff participate in mandatory training workshops and are certified in first aid. We manage camper-to-staff ratios to ensure excellent supervision in a safe and secure setting. All employees of HSC Summer Programs strive to be excellent communicators and love working with children.

Lunch Program
HSC Summer Camps is excited to offer a full-week lunch program this summer. Included in the cost of registration, campers will receive a hot meal, with both morning and afternoon snacks. If you select a morning session, a morning snack and lunch are included. If you select an afternoon session, an afternoon snack is included. Dietary concerns can be met. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Erica Otaguro at erica.otaguro@hsc.on.ca.

Tuck Shop
Campers may purchase snacks from our Tuck Shop during the lunch hour.

For Safety’s Sake
To ensure participants’ health and safety, please make camp staff aware of any medical conditions, medication requirements, behavioural issues or allergies. This information is valuable and will help ensure a rewarding camp experience for each participant.

Expectations for Behaviour
We require that all young people attending HSC Summer Programs demonstrate respect for each other and for their instructors and counsellors. This includes:
  • Respect for each other’s safety
  • Respect for each other’s feelings
  • Respect for the property of others and of the HSC Summer Programs
Any breach of this fundamental principle of respect will not be tolerated. So that we may ensure safety, all participants in HSC Summer Programs may not leave their group or the facility without the permission of a member of our staff. In addition, please note that individual programs may have rules specific to their activities and facilities.
