Athletic Hall of Fame

Throughout Hillfield Strathallan College’s history, a number of outstanding athletes and contributors to sport have passed through the doors and campuses of the College. To honour these amazing alumni, coaches and community members, HSC is excited to offer the HSC Athletic Hall of Fame. 

Through a nomination and selection committee process, athletes, teams, coaches and builders will annually be selected to be inducted into this prestigious collection of HSC history. The dinner and award ceremony takes place at Homecoming.

Deadline for Nominations: Friday, February 8, 2019.

Who can be nominated?

Nominees will not be considered until they are an alum and/or have been retired from HSC for three years. In the team category, the youngest member must be graduated for three years.

  • What is the selection criteria?

     
    Player (Male/Female)
    • Had a positive and significant impact on their team/mates and the program(s) at HSC
    • An athlete that was able to elevate their play to a higher level (Provincial, University or College)
    • Someone who may have overcame adversity to play at an exceptional level
    • Showed significant commitment to their team and school

    Team (Male/Female)
    • Won several championships and/or exemplified dominance in their sport while at HSC
    • May have overcame odds and adversity as a team

    Coach
    • Developed or started athletic programs at HSC
    • Coached teams or athletes that won championships
    • Impacted in a significant way on the sports culture of the College
    • Assisted students to achieve the next level in terms of University or Provincial play

    Builder
    • Provided substantial program support financially, creatively or as a leader

    Heritage
    • Selected from teams, coaches, players or builders from the pre-1960s merger of the schools

  • What is the nomination and selection process?

    A selection committee representing a cross-section of Alumni, Current Academics, Former Academics and Community Leaders will review all nominations and be responsible for the task of selecting annual honourees.
